What’s a girl to do after being ditched at the altar by text message? That’s right. Text. Message.
How does she pick up the pieces and move on? I’m no Dear Abby but here’s a little free advice…
Advice #1 – First, purge your apartment of all things him—by tossing his belongings off the balcony.
Advice #2 – Do not, I repeat do not, throw anything out into the hallway because you’ll injure your hot new neighbor.
Advice #3 – When said neighbor brings over Chinese Food do not let him stay and keep you company. It’s awkward when you realize he’s your boss.
Advice #4 – Accept his offer to help you with your side business but think twice before using a date to his sister’s wedding as collateral.
Advice #5 – Investigate who your mystery neighbor really is. Don’t trust his word even if he’s the world’s best kisser.
If you listen to nothing else, pay attention to that last one. It’s the most important and will save you a lot of heartache.
Xo,
LOVESICK IN LAKE STARLIGHT

Their meet cute and her chucking a book and it conking him on the head as he walks by in the hall. How could I possibly not like this book?
Brooklyn is sweet but has an iron spine (even if she doesn't quite know it yet) and is the sort of Hufflepuff that every family needs. Her siblings are hilarious, and I'm looking forward to reading more of this series so I can read their stories as well. I love how supportive their entire family is, and the way they treat Wyatt is great. OH! And Brooklyn's Grandma is such a treat! I do love a meddling, slightly eccentric older lady in a romance. ;)
I had a little harder time getting a bead on Wyatt. They kept referring to his "dark" past, but didn't really elaborate much except to say he was a major player. Um, ok? That's not really that awful... It sounds like he participated in a lot of totally consensual hook-ups where both parties knew the score, so... Kind of some unnecessary drama with him worrying about his "dark past" and what a "horrible person" he was. And then there's the Big Drama where they're back in New York and he's all "you're not going to like New York Wyatt," and "whatever happens in there, don't leave without me." OK dude, way to be SUPER overdramatic.
This is the second book in The Baileys series, but can be read as a stand alone with limited spoilers for the first book in the series. The epilogue is also a bit of a segway into the next book in the series, Birth of a Baby Daddy (which I really want to read, despite the HORRIBLE TITLE and the fact that I don't normally care for the secret/surprise baby trope).
