Summary
He's too hot for words.

Mia

Alex Lawson might as well be the hottest book boyfriend imaginable. A fun, romantic, possessive, panty-melting man. And the best part?

He’s real.

For a girl like me—a slightly awkward book addict—Alex is a dream come true, straight off the pages of my favorite romance novels. But our story is turning into a whirlwind romance—the kind that only exists in books.

And I wonder if we’re heading toward our own happily ever after, or if he’s too good to be true.

Alex
Here’s the thing. I’m not a bad guy. Lying to Mia wasn’t part of the plan. Finding success as a romance author using a female pen name wasn’t part of the plan either. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns. Like realizing the woman you’re falling for is your alter-ego’s online best friend.
Online, she thinks I’m a woman named Lexi. In person, she knows I’m all man. I want to worship her body and claim every inch of her.

But if she finds out the truth, I could lose everything.

Review
My husband would argue that this book is cheating because it's about a romance novel about a woman who reads romance novels - and it's a double-whammy because she's also a book blogger who blogs about romance novels. So clearly by the very fact that I'm reading this book, I'm going to identify at least somewhat with the main character. But clearly not ALL romance readers and bloggers can be socially awkward klutzes? And while I don't think it's specifically spelled out that Mia is a plus sized leading lady, I feel like her description doesn't say she'snot a big beautiful woman either, so she is absolutely fat and fabulous in my head, thank you very much.

Alex is so great, and I love his relationship with his family - especially his sister! I adore that he's been plugging away at this epic sci-fi novel for years and years, and then turns out to have a gift for writing romance. It makes me wonder how much progress he's making on his passion project though, putting all of his creative energy into his side hustle. I love the way he is with Mia (well, aside from the whole secret-identity thing), just taking her total weirdness in stride and thinking it's cute and sexy. And as someone who can also be a total spaz when nervous but who can be pretty cool once I get used to someone (at least, I like to *think* I can be pretty cool...) I really love how their whole relationship progresses. Especially Alex trying to do the right thing in totally the wrong ways, and Mia taking it the way someone with absolutely zero self-confidence totally would. (Yeah Mia, I know. You're a mess. It's OK girl, you're a fabulous mess.)

This is the first book in the Book Boyfriends series, but it can be read as a stand alone. The next book, Cocky Roommate, features Alex's sister Kendra (who is a side character in this book) as the female lead, and I'm super excited to read it!
